Officer injured at police station’s attack by ‘terrorists’

Police operatives attached to the Borno State Command repelled a group of armed terrorists when Jakana Divisional Police Headquarters, Borno State launched attack on 28th of November, 2024 at about 01:00a.m.

A police officer, was injured during the incident, according to a statement by the Police Force spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

He said many of the attackers with varying degrees of bullet wounds, while one of injured officers, is responding to treatment.

“Fortunately, the group was met with strong resistance from gallant operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who successfully repelled the attack and left many of the attackers with varying degrees of bullet wounds, while one police officer was injured and is currently responding to treatment”, he said.

Similarly, police operatives attached to the Sokoto State Police Command, conducted raids on several black spots and bandits camps across various areas in the State on November 25th 2024.

Police operatives, who were supported by operatives from other sister security agencies, also cleared terrorists camps and recovered some AK47 rifles and several magazines, each loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition.

Occupants of the camp, according to the statement, took to their heels upon noticing the presence of the operatives while efforts are on top gear to apprehend them all.

Meanwhile, police operatives attached to the Nigeria Police Command in Delta State on November 28th 2024, chased a gang of suspected kidnappers in a bid to suppress the activities of kidnappers.

The feat was recorded on November 28th 2024, while acting on a report of attempted kidnapping at Asaba, Delta State.

The operatives intercepted and engaged the suspects in a gun duel, overpowering the suspected kidnappers and forcing them to flee into a nearby bush with sustained bullet injuries.

A search of the suspected kidnappers’ operational vehicle led to the recovery of 3 Ak-47 rifle, 2 pump action rifles, 1 Ak-47 magazine, 8 rounds of AR Live ammunition, and 21 rounds of live cartridges subsequently.

Responding, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, commended the gallant operatives for their steadfastness, commitment to duty, and bravery in the face of danger, leading to these remarkable feats and recovery of a cache of ammunition.
