Police personnel have acquired Training on Explosive Ordinance Disposal Risk Education — NPF-EOD in Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja where the hierarchy harped on the need for public safety.
The closing ceremony for the week-long intensive training, was held at the Peacekeeping Lecture Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja at the trainees that drew participants from the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Unit across the various Commands.
Nigeria Police Force spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this late Friday in a statement, said the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, highlighted the importance of the forth series training, which began on the 3rd of March 2025.
Egbetokun, whose goodwill message was delivered by the Commissioner of Police EOD-CBRN, CP Patrick Atayero, explained that the training will ensure safer Communities and supporting humanitarian action across the nation.
He also assured that the Course will directly enhanced the capacity of the NPF-EOD personnel and other participating security personnel and equip them with advanced skills necessary to train their peers and effectively deliver life-saving EORE safety measures to Communities at risk.
Experts were conducted by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), in collaboration with valued partners including the British High Commission (BHC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), according to him.
Guests including representatives from the BHC, Embassy of Japan, JICA, Embassy of France, German Technical Advisory Group, and the National Mine Action Center (NMAC), attended the training event.
