Ighodalo running mate steps aside as SSG

Mr Asue Ighodalo, Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for Edo State governorship election billed for September 21, 2024, Mr Osarodion Ogie

has stepped down as the Secretary to Edo State Government.

The soft spoken Sexagenarian, the current record holder as the longest servicing SGG in the State, took a bow after 7 years and 9 months in office on Friday August 9th 2024.

The elsewhile think-tank to the Government and legal luminary, who hails from Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, had served as Commissioner for Works and SSG during Senator Adams Oshiomhole 8-year tenure.

Ogie, was appointment as SSG by Governor Godwin Obaseki after he led his governorship campaign on the platform of APC and his re-election on the platform of PDP

But, Mr Ogie resignation was yet-to-be made public, raising concerns among members of the State main opposition party, APC, which had call for his resignation, perceives the decision as a step taken for political expediency.

The innovative ideas and boundless creativity, of Mr Ogie is facilitating a meaningful conversation on social Media space, but some hardliners, say that Mr Ogie’s resignation amounts to fetching water from a bucket into a river.
