Okpebholo, Idahosa sworn-in as Edo gov, deputy

Senator Monday Okpebholo and Honourable Dennis Idahosa have been sworn-in as Edo State Governor and the State deputy Governor, pledging to uphold Nigeria Constitution.

Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, administered the oath of
allegiance and oath office on Governor Okpebholo at 12: 54p.m on Monday at Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City, the State Capital.

Clad in a blue suit with red tie and white sleeve in company it his children, appended his signature to relevant documents in presence of the cheering crowd.

The Governor mounted the guard of honour and waved to the cheerful crowd, amid jubilation that was followed by a special parade by the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and men of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Nigeria Police march Band, supplied the special parade that provided the needed impetuous that raised the curiosity of guests at the ceremony.

Earlier, the State deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, who mounted the podium with his wife, took his oath of allegiance and oath of office and thereafter signed the dotted lines.

Vice President, Kashim Shettima and Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin, represented by Chief Oghafua Oyeoba, the Oyeoba of Benin and Chief Igiemwin George Ekhator, the Obasogie of Benin and other prominent Nigerians, including politicians attended the event.
