NSCDC operationalises whistleblowing policy

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has operationalised whistleblowing policy with the launch of its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) in FCT, Abuja.

The Corpse also inducted officers at sidelines of the procedure and unveiled the ACTU logo, held at Ade Abolurin Auditorium, National Headquarters on Tuesday when he delivered the keynote address during a 2-day Training Programme Tagged: “Whistleblowing Policy and Procedure”.

Corps Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar, pledged his commitment towards fostering cohesion and national development.

Audi who was represented by Deputy Commandant General in charge of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), DCG Mohammed Lawal Haruna, listed steps taken by NSCDC’s transformative system that would encourage reporting of unethical practices that contravene the Corps’ Standard Operating Procedures.

The NSCDC boss assured that the measures would enhance accountability, protect whistleblowers, ensure prompt and fair investigation of reported cases amongst others.

ICPC chairman, represented by Mr Olusegun Adigun, challenged the new inductees to approach their responsibilities with night level of professionalism, impartiality and deep sense of duty even as he assured of them of the commission’s technical and operational support.
