IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu alleges plot to dismantle his legal team

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged plot by fifth Columnists working to discourage his lead Counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) to withdraw his legal service.

IPOB’s lead Counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor said this in a statement after a visit to Kanu at the headquarters of the department of State Services (DSS) on Monday Abuja where he denied the provocative and false narrative.

The IPOB leader who expressed shock over the development, said he remains unshaken and absolute confidence in his legal team led by Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN, and deeply appreciated the untiring efforts of Ozekhome, towards securing his unconditional release from the dungeon of the DSS.

TheNewspad recalls that the appeal Court had discharged Kanu who was charged with treasonable felony, terrorism and other related offences, after he fled Nigeria, and rearrested and thereafter deported abroad to Nigeria and prohibited his detention and prosecution, which began 13th of October, 2022.

According to IPOB’s lead Counsel, “That at no time did he ever say, contemplate, or ever crossed his imagination to reshuffle his impeccable legal team. Nor did he ever discuss with anybody, or any member of his legal team, whether as named in the fake news, or any relatives, that he wanted to reshuffle or disband his legal team. He described the news as fake news from hell fire.

“That the narrative desperately being pushed out by 5th columnists, was aimed at defaming, disparaging, embarrassing, provoking and frustrating his erudite Lead Counsel – Prof. Ozekhome, SAN- into quitting his cases and abandoning him, on the purported premise that the offending publications were hatched or permitted by Onyendu (Kanu).

“Onyendu did not. It is all fabrications by those who are envious of the successes notched by Prof Mike Ozekhome, SAN, since he took over his cases”, with exemplary exploits”, Ejiofor said in the statement.
