Police invite Catholic Priest for 'flogging teacher'

Police authorities in Anambra State have invited ‘power-drunk Catholic Priest’, Fr. Jude Muokwe, accused of flogging a female school teacher,

50-year-old widow was allegedly assaulted by the Priest following altercation between him and the victim last week Wednesday for raising questions about alleged deduction of lesson fees by the school’s authority.

It was gathered that trouble started after Maureen entered into a classroom where Ikeorah and other school staff were holding a meeting without his permission.

The Primary 6 teacher at Angel’s Primary School, Ifitedunu area in Anambra State.

She hails from Umuanugwo village, Ifitedunu in Angel’s Primary school, Ifitedunu area of the State.

A disturbing footage of the Primary 6 teacher who was crying had trended in social media.

TheNewspad investigation revealed that the Priest has yet to honour police investigation after police operatives visited his residence twice.

But, the Catholic Diocese of Akwa, have waded into the incident, while expressing regret over the uncanny behaviour by the Priest and promise to commence investigation.

The Chancellor of the Diocese, in a statement endorsed by Rev. Fr. Charles Ndubisi, said, “The Catholic Diocese of Awka upholds integrity of character and respect for all and cannot condone any type of misconduct in any of our schools”.

A source said the church authorities and top government officials in the State may adopt alternative Dispute Resolution towards resolving the feud between the duo.
