Gov Umo declares work free-day for late wife

The Akwa Ibom State government has declared Friday November 29th as a work-free day in honour of Governor Umo Eno’s wife, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno funeral ceremony.

Prince Enobong Uwah said on Wednesday in a Press statement noted that the work-free day would enable indigenes (Akwaibomites) and non-indigenes who are resident in the State to attend the Obsequies of the First Lady and pay respect to her at Ikot Ikpene, Udo, Nsit, Akwa Ibom State.

Uwah explained in the statement that the Government announcement was in consultation with bereaved family of the late First Lady who died of an undisclosed illness on 26, September 2024.

Part of the statement reads: “Further to the final home-going programme for our departed First Lady, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Government in consultation with the bereaved family has declared Friday, 29th November, 2024 work free-day in honour of our dear mother.

“This is to enable Akwaibomites and other residents of the State to pay respect thier last respect to our mother at her Obsequies in Ikot, Ikpene Udo, Nsit”,. according to the SSG.

TheNewspad recalls that Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, joined other prominent Nigerians to pay respect in her honour of Mrs Eno at the International Worship Centre in Uyo last week Friday Night.
