A yet-to-be named driver was killed when a Broadcast mast snapped and fell on him during a windstorm
on Thursday evening at Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.

The interior decorator van driver, according to sources, was trying to protect his boss and protect other Hitech equipment from destruction when the tragedy occured.
The stadium was the venue for Edo State government praise night, marking Governor Monday Okpebholo 100 days in office, Thursday.
The tragedy prompted the organisers to moved the praise night to Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub on Airport road in Benin City.
Security personnel thereafter stormed the scene and evacuated his body to an undisclosed morgue, amid wailing by bemused sympathizers.
Some Nigerians have expressed shock over the incident while others have condolences to the bereaved family.
