CP orders officers arrest for assaulting man in viral video

Police authorities in River State Command have ordered the arrest of its personnel caught in a viral video flogging unarmed Nigerian.

Recall that a disturbing footage of the Cops who were captured flogging and slapping a middle-aged man, amid backclash.

SP Grace Iringe-Oko, the spokesperson of the Rivers Command disclosed this in a statement on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, CP OKon O Effiong.

The officers carried out the unprofessional conduct at the Elibrada junction, Emohua in Port Harcourt, the statement said, “The Command further assures the good people of Rivers State of its unalloyed commitment to promoting the rule of law.

“People are enjoined to report cases of human rights abuse and infractions to the command”, according to the statement, which assured Nigerians that the Police Officers involved in the barbaric act will be investigated, and sanctioned.
