Mr Femi Fanwo, the Media aide to the Governor, said the attack occurred at 12:30p.m on Saturday.

Fanwo, blamed the incident on thugs acting at the behest of the main opposition party in the State.

According to him, governor “Bello, was targeted in an attack by individuals believed to be supporters of Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka”.

He alleged that armed individuals allegedly affiliated with Ajaka’s camp then began firing shots at the Governor’s convoy, upon sighting the Governor’s convoy, the hoodlums allegedly proceeded to block the road.
