Zulum calls for prayer over spokesman’s death in India

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has called for prayer ahead of the burial of his spokesperson, Malam Isa Gusau who passed on Thursday January 11, 2024 after a prolonged illness at India hospital.

Janazah prayer (burial) for Gusau has been scheduled for Sunday, 14 January 2024 beginning at 4.00 pm at the Central Mosque in Abuja.

Samuel Aruwan, former Commissioner for Internal Security in elsewhile administration of Mr Nasir El-Rufa’i in a Facebook post on Saturday, said the Borno State Governor would appreciate your presence and prayers during this difficult time. The Governor also expressed gratitude for your condolences and kind words.

Accordingly, body of the late spokesman is expected to arrive in Abuja on Sunday afternoon, with the burial scheduled for 4:00 pm.

The Gusau who is survived by two wives, three children, brothers, and sisters, was also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) UK, the International Public Relations Association, UK, and the African Public Relations Association.

Gusau, who had served as Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy to the then Governor of Borno State, now Vice President, Kashim Shettima, and the incumbent Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, was a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, United Kingdom.
