Why Tinubu can’t follow Buhari’s path— Uzor Kalu

The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu says President

Bola Tinubu is aware that Nigerians are suffering, insisting however that he cannot continue from where Muhammadu Buhari stopped in fixing the ailing economy.

Kalu who stated this during Thursday ‘Politics Today interview on Channels Television, assured that Tinubu’s administration is working to fix the economy for sustainable development by creating policies that will reduce poverty in Nigeria.

The former Governor of Abia State said the President is aware that Nigerians are hungry, noting that the government is working on a long term solution to economic challenges.

Senator Kalu said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win if it contest another general elections despite the odd, lamenting however that “my party is doing based on the indices of the economy, but unlucky”.

The Senator said the economic downturn, which has being a global challenge, following COVID-19 outbreak, is not peculiar to Nigeria.

According to him, “God creates leaders for a purpose. Every leader has a purpose God has created him. The government of Tinubu cannot continue from where Buhari stopped”.

“They are trying to bring back the economy where it’s supposed to be, but, it’s bringing hardship to our people.

“The President himself knows that Nigerians are suffering. He knows that Nigerians are hungry. He is a street person. He knows the street very well. The President in some nights use his car to go round and he knows what is happening in Abuja here.

“Wherether there there is kidnapping or not, the President goes round Abuja to know what is happening. He is not a President that is hooked up in a room. This President is very courageous”, Kalu said.

He also said he monthly N14 million as a Senator is quite paltry considering the financial obligations in his Constituency and payment of his staff.
