UNIBEN VC disowns social media contracts’ scam

The Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Prof Edoba Omoregie (SAN), has urged members of the public not to get fooled by scammers using his name and photographs on fake social media accounts, including Facebook pages for contracts.

This assertion is contained in disclaimer, issued by the University’s spokesperson, Dr (Mrs) Benedicta Ehanire on Wednesday.

She urge the public to ignore any request for friendship, money in the name of Edoba B. Omoregie or in whatever form the scammers choose to write the Vice Chancellor’s name.

“As a public office holder and top lawyer of the rank of Senior Advocate, understands and adheres strictly to the right procedures for transacting official business and will not do so on social media or any unofficial platform”, Ehanire said.
