SERAP urges Buhari to unmask killers of LP Candidate in Enugu

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to promptly investigate the reported murder of Mr Oyibo Chukwu.

Oyibo, Labour Party Candidate for Enugu East Senatorial district in Enugu, was reportedly shot dead by gunmen and set five other persons in his vehicle ablaze.

The tragedies occurred, while returning from a campaign trip on Wednesday, ahead of Saturday February 25, Presidential and National Assembly polls.

SERAP in a terse statement on social Media on Thursday morning said, “the perpetrators must be immediately arrested and prosecuted. #Elections2023”.

The statement partly read, “The Buhari administration must promptly investigate the reported killing of the Labour Party Candidate for Enugu East Senatorial district”.

TheNewspad report police operatives attached to the homicide Unit of the Nigeria police Command in Enugu State, have visited the crime scene.
