Outrage over missing LP logo on INEC result sheet in Edo LG Ward

A report of missing logo of Labour party (LP) in Unit 1, in Eguare Primary school voting Centre in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, sparked outrage among the voters on Saturday March 18, 2023 state house of Assembly polls in the State.

It was learnt that while the logo of the various political parties fielding Candidates in Saturday State house of Assembly polls in the State were provided on the result sheet by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

It was learnt that agents of the party in collaboration with INEC officials at the voting Centre have agreed to correct error manually with a pen, ahead of the final collation of results.

But, there are concerns that the document might be declared invalid, ahead of the official pronouncement of the electoral empire.

Recall that similar glitches were recorded in some polling Units during February 25th presidential and National Assembly elections.

INEC in response to the criticisms in some parts of the State, promised to correct the anomaly, ahead of today (Saturday’s) election, which was shifted by one week by Commission.

Voting materials arrived early and the number of voters increasing, while the BVAS machines are functioning properly in most areas visited by our reporters.
