FG shift population Census by two months, okays 2.8bn for software

The federal government has shifted the 2023 National Population and housing Census earlier scheduled for March 29 has been shifted to May 2023.

The population and housing census earlier scheduled for March 29 has been shifted to May 2023 nationwide.

Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, said this after federal executive Council meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.

The shift, according to him, will I’ve the way for the rescheduled governorship and state houses of Assembly polls from March 11 to March 18.

The Minister also explained that FEC has approved the sum of N2.8 billion for software procurement.

The Council also approved the Nigeria Agenda 2050, a plan towards increasing real GDP growth by seven per cent, creating 165 million naira new jobs and reducing the number of people living in poverty to 2.1 million in 2050, Mohammed assured.
