Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has slated its emergency meeting governors elected on its platform towards reconciling aggrieved leaders of the party.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has summoned an emergency meeting of all governors elected on its platform amid unfriendly naira crisis as Nigerians head to the poll on Saturday February 25, 2023.

Felix Morka, publicity Secretary of the party, in a statement issued on behalf of the National Chairman, said party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Sunday by 2.00pm.

The statement partly read, “The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), His Excellency, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, invites State Governors of the Party to an emergency meeting to be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 by 2pm at the National Secretariat, Abuja”.

The cashless policy introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the strategy to win the upcoming polls are expected to top the agenda at the meeting.

It was learned that the controversy surrounding the old N500 and N1000 notes by federal government on February 10, 2023 suit brought to the apex bank by 10 Nigerian Governors seeking to stop the federal government from withdrawing the old N200, N500 and N1000 notes from circulation brought Supreme court, is among the issues for discussion.
