Super Falcons get nat’l honours, $100,000 each

President Bola Tinubu on Monday July 28th 2025 hosted the victorious Super Falcons of Nigeria team, following their victory at the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco.

He conferred national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on 24 players who were also celebrated with $100,000 in Naira equivalent each while the Technical Crew will get $50,000.

The President disclosed this when he hosted the team and the other sport official to a dinner Monday July 28th 2025 evening in Aso Villa where he revealed that the players will receive 3 bedroom apartment each at the renewed Hope Estate in Federal Capital Territory.

Tinubu, commended the team, which defeated the Moroccan side 3-2, in last week Saturday’s final match, a feat represented courage, triumph discipline and consistency.

He said, “honestly, I want to watch the Match. But somebody came to on the television in the sitting room. When it was 2-0, I became very restless.

“But, I was there still watching the indomitable spirit resilience, determination and courage”, according to President Tinubu.

Also, Governor, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, donated the sum of N10 million each to the players on behalf of the Nigerian Governors Forum for lifting the trophy the 10th time.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, expressed a sense of appreciation for the excited heroine for inspiring Nigeria at the global stage.
