Three police officers in trouble for becoming SUG president’s escort

Police have instituted a disciplinary against three police officers caught escorting the Adamawa State University students’ union president in Adamawa State.

THE THREE POLICE OFFICERS ASKED TO APPEAR BEFORE POLICE PROVOST MARSHALL FOR FURTHER DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

The police officers were deployed as security during the convention and electoral process organized by the National Union of Adamawa State Students (NUADSS) on 4th and 5th of September, 2023.

But, two among the personnel were caught walking beside a car conveying the unnamed union president at an event while other students hailed and hailing him in viral video on social media last week.

A Force Provost Marshall said on Monday in a statement said two Constables Jimeta Divisional Police Command are to appear at police headquarters in Abuja along with their superior officer for further disciplinary action.

The order, issued on behalf of the acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun said the actions of the officers were not in line with the purpose for which they were deployed and unacceptable and do not represent the values of our Force.

Accordingly, the officers have been summoned to the Force Headquarters for appropriate action, accordingly by the police which reaffirmed its committed to maintaining professionalism and upholding the dignity of the Force.

TheNewspad reports that the erring police personnel have began their orderly room trial at the Nigeria Police Command in Adamawa State after they were indicted.
