Three illegal arms dealers caught with 23 firearms in South East

Three suspected dealers in prohibited firearms have been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria police Command in Anambra State, South East, Nigeria.

The arrest of the alleged major arms dealers in Onitsha — commercial town of the State, followed prolonged surveillance by police operatives.

DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the Command’s spokesman said in a statement on Saturday that 23 Automatic Pump Action Guns and 625 live cartridges were recovered by the police during the raid.

He stated that investigation is being expanded by the law enforcement agents with a view to apprehend other members of the syndicate.

TheNewspad reports that police are silent on details of the suspects in the statement.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, commended the operatives for the feat and charged to sustain the momentum against criminal elements in the State.
