Tambuwal’s aide crushed to death at Atiku’s rally, PDP mum

The presidential rally of the People Democratic Party (PDP) that took place in Sokoto State, ended in a tragedy, following the sudden death of Hajiya Aishat Maina, Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Tuesday afternoon.

Maina, was crushed in a stampede that occurred at the exit gate of Giginya stadium — venue of the rally, causing apprehension.

Daily Trust investigation that was also corroborated by by an official in the State Ministry of Information who explained that: “A motorcyclist fell down from his bike at the exit way of the stadium.

“This caused a serious stampede, with people falling upon one another. She was one of the victims”.

Ibrahim Magaji Gusau, the Chairman of Forum of Special Advisers, further said Maina, was rescued by responders and thereafter taken to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto for medical attention.

“But, unfortunately, she died few minutes after her admission”, Magaji, said in a tribute in honour of the departed woman.

TheNewspad reports that the family of the deceased has been notified by police authorities about the unfortunate incident.

Meanwhile, the PDP is yet to react to the incident as at that time of filing this report.
