Pro-Wike lawmakers issue ultimatum to gov Fubara

The Martin Amaewhule-led faction of the Rivers house of Assembly has issued 48 hours ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara to present the 2025 appropriation bill.

The lawmakers loyal to the immediate past Governor of the State and MInister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike issued the ultimatum during plenary on Monday.

The Assembly resolution comes few days after the Supreme court verdict, voiding the election of Chairmen and Counsellors election in Rivers State.

Recall that Governor Fubara signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law in January 2025 after it was passed by the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led faction of the Rivers Assembly, which is loyal to him.

TheNewspad reports that there was heavy security presence, comprising personnel of the Department of State Security Service, Police and Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps during the sitting.
