All Progressives Congress, APC aspirant for November 16, 2024 Ondo State governorship election, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has asked President Bola Tinubu to sack his ministerial cabinet and fix Nigeria’s ailing economy.
The Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District made the recommendation when he featured on Wednesday’s Channels Television Politics Today Magazine programme.
Citing leadership failure on the part of the Ministers, Ibrahim, urged the President to stamp his authority and replace the Ministers, particularly those who have been accused of corruption with people who are more knowledgeable.
Asked what steps the President Bola Tinubu-led federal should take to disabuse the wrong perception of Nigerians about some harsh economic policies of the government, Senator Ibrahim said, “You have to dissolve the cabinet and come up with knowledgeable people.
The cabinet is too cool. And the Ministers are there as if they are not there, according to him, “Those accused of corruption should be dropped. If you (Tinubu) fail to do that, you (Tinubu) will be carrying their burden. And I think that will be terrible for our Country”.
The Senator also revealed that the unpopular economic policies of Nigeria’s ruling party vindicated his earlier claim that the economy does not inspire hope, despite the transformation zeal of President Tinubu.
According to the governorship aspirant, “The federal government borrowed over $2 billion two weeks ago from World Bank. The government had borrowed over $3 billion from JP Morgan. Now, you are shouting at me, oh, it’s not as easy as that.
“I studied Management Science. They think I don’t know what I am doing? What I can see clearly is that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has a very fantasies synergy. His synergy is robust.
“But, I think the synergy has either been arrested by this government or the structure has been arrested. Obviously, the synergy could not percolate or trickle down as hope as they want.
“Do you think the system can carry the strategy? If you have a strategy and you do not have the result, then, what happens?”, he queried.
