Plateau workers mark Sallah in pains over N11bn salary deficit

Workers in Plateau State Civil Service marked this year’s Eid-El-Kabir festival as planned over non-payment of their salary arrears by the government.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang said during his recent appearance on African Independent Television (AIT) Kakaaki, blamed the setback on deficit of N11 billion debt that he inherited from, Mr Simon Lalong-led government.

The Governor however assured that plans were ongoing to pay March and April 2023 salaries for workers to find some relief having paid February salary estimated at N2 billon.

“For us on the Plateau, we inherited a salary deficit of N11bn which we are trying to even resolve. This is at the present rate.

“We have been able to pay February salary, which is about N2 billon. We are making effort to be able to go onto March and April 2023 salaries so that our workers can find some relief. So, if we are going to increase the salaries, something must shift. There must be a better inflow.
