Ogun police dismiss report of curfew, movement restriction

Police authorities in Ogun State have misleading reports alleging imposition of a curfew or movement restriction in Ogun State.

 

The spokesman of the Nigeria police Command in Ogun State, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said in a statement that the report/rumour is false and misleading.

 

Part of the statement reads, “The Ogun State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Bode Ojajuni, wishes to categorically debunk rumours and misleading reports alleging the imposition of a curfew or restriction of movement in the State”.

 

The statement assured residents and members of the public that the security situation across the State remains peaceful and under control.

 

It also reinstated that adequate deployment of personnel and operational assets strategically have been put in place to maintain law and order and protect lives and property in the State.

 

The statement advised residents to disregard unverified reports capable of causing unnecessary panic and continue with their lawful activities without fear.

 

Accordingly, members of the public are also encouraged to report any suspicious movements or security concerns through the Ogun State Police Command designated emergency lines, according to the police.
