The Nigeria Police Command in Ogun State has began investigation into alleged asexual abuse of three year-old girl by 17-year-old medical student of yet-to-be ascertained University in Lagos State.
The incident happened at about 1940 hours on August 18, 2023
at a Birthday party in the suspect’s parents house, where organizers of the party are tenants in Ogun State.
The victim’s mother told the Chief Superintendent of Police, Kazeem Solotan, the Ibafo Divisional Police officer in the State that “17-year-old Great Orogun, put his genital into her daughter’s mouth”.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola in a statement said the innocent girl told her mother after the party during a friendly conversion with her.
“The three years old girl, alleged Great Orogun of abusing her daughter sexually by putting his male genital into the daughter’s mouth in the kitchen”, the victim’s mother said.
“The innocent three years old girl was answering questions put across to her by her mother, when the mother in a friendly conversation asked her three years old daughter if she enjoyed the party, in her little voice, the three years old girl innocently narrated what Great did to her.
“She further said Great closed the door of the kitchen, lifted her up and put his tongue into her mouth”, SP. Omolola who did not disclose the suspect’s whereabouts.
She revealed that “The mother of the girl child has further stated that her daughter is traumatised and has shown signs of psychological breakdown, recounting to herself even at her quite. The mother of two has written in her statement that she wants justice served”.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha have been briefed of the alleged crime and he has ordered the immediate, investigation into the allegation.
He affirmed the child’s right Act implementation, noting that he will not tolerate an iota of abuse of any sort in his State, especially rape as a human right violation which is one of the top crimes he has repeatedly vowed to tackle.
The Police boss assured of sterling investigation while enjoining, parents to imbibe authoritative parenting skills, in order to abate the rising trends of sexual violation incidents in the State.
Meanwhile, a Non-Governmental Organization, intervened and called for a detailed investigation into the case at the wake of Sunday morning 20th August 2023.
