Nigeria police operatives have arrested a Couple, Moses Mba and his wife, Florence Moses in connection with death of Mark Kalu at Osiele market fight that broke out on October 8, 2023 in Ogun State.
The duo was arrested after the Divisional Police Officer in ODEDA, in Abeokuta received a report of a death incident, which occurred January 6th, 2023, at about 0700hrs.
Police Command in the State, SP. Omolola Odutola gave the ages of the Couple as 50 and 40 years of age in a statement on Saturday.
It was alleged that the deceased sustained injuries during a fight that occurred on October 8th, 2023, at Osiele market square.
The altercation between the late Mark Kalu and a Couple, Moses Mba, aged 50 year old, and his wife, Florence Moses, aged 40 year old, leading to the death of Kalu, according to the police.
Accordingly, “efforts were made by the Babaloja of Osiele and the Igbo Community Leader to mediate and find a peaceful resolution”.
“However, the suspects have now been taken into custody to facilitate a preliminary investigation into the incident”, SP. Omolola said.
She also said the deceased has been deposited at the Federal Medical Center in Idi Aba by the police for autopsy.
