IGP hails officer for rejecting N4m bribe from Lagos drug suspects

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has commended the police officer SP Rilwan Kasumu who rejected the sum of (Four Million Naira) #4,000,000 bribe from arrested drug suspects in Lagos State.

Kasumu led police tactical team attached to Area K, Marogbo, Lagos State Command that raided a base where Akete Esther sells drugs called ICE, and recovered a large quantity of the substance and some AK47 live ammunition.

ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations officer in a statement said the money which was offered by 43-year-old Esther and 49-years-old Oke Okebalam in cause of the investigation by the police team.

The statement explained that the investigative police officer who earlier frowned at the offer seized the cash and marked it exhibit and arrested the duo for further investigation and prosecution.

The statement also said the IGP, reiterates police commitment to harnessing all available means and adopting professional anti crime strategies to tackle all forms of crimes and criminality in Nigeria.
