Gov’s wife dies at 57… family requests privacy

Governor Umo Eno, of Akwa Ibom State wife, Patience Umo Eno, is dead.

The First Lady died at 57 years at an undisclosed health hospital after a brief illness.

The State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong said the Matriarch died on Thursday September 26th 2024.

He said the family solicited for prayers and support during this challenging period and requested privacy as they mourn the loss of a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

The statement said Governor Umo Eno, appreciates the support and solidarity shown by citizens and assured of his commitment to the service of the State despite the profound personal loss.

Ememobong also revealed that “further details regarding burial arrangements and other formal announcements will be communicated by the family in due course”.

“The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time. Further details will be provided by the family as necessary.

“In the meantime, the family kindly requests privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother and grandmother”, he said.

Tributes have started pouring out in honour of the departed woman.
