Shaibu: My headache started after attending Oshiomhole’s swearing-in

The deputy of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has says his travails began after he was caught in viral video during the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on 13 June 2023 in honour of Senator Adams Oshiomhole.

Shaibu, was elected on a joint ticket on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with the State governor, Godwin Obaseki after the duo defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC which produced Senator Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District.

The State deputy Governor who made the claim during Channels Television Sunrise interview on Tuesday, expressed delight over Governor Obaseki’s reconciliatory moves with Oshiomhole.

But he regretted his uncomplimentary remarks he made against Oshiomhole during Edo State 2020 governorship campaign after cutting through the noise to get attention of electorate.

According to him, “One of the crisis that I have when I went to Senate to congratulate Comrade Aliu Adams Oshiomhole”.

“Oshiomhole and I were seen in a viral video. That was when my headache started because the Governor’s style is that a friend to the Governor is your friend and enemy of the Governor is your enemy. So, I understood those principles and I have been very careful”, Shaibu who declared his intention to contest Edo State 2024 governorship election on Monday, said.
