The palace of the Emir in Yashikira community in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, was burnt down when suspected bandits launched a brutal attack on the Community in the earlier hours of Monday.

 

The hoodlums also abducted an unspecified number of residents, including women and children during the invasion, and fired sporadic gunshots.

 

Residents told Channels television that the attackers operated for hours without resistance, leaving behind destruction and fear in the border Community.

 

TheNewspad had reported that three persons were gun down when bandits who unleashed terror on a prayer ground at Ori-Oke Ajaiye, located on the outskirts of Ikiran Village in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State and abducted 15 worshippers during night vigil at the weekend.

 

Details of the latest attack is still sketchy. But sources said a statement on the incident by police authorities in the State, is being awaited.
