The Nigeria police Command in Abia State Command has rounded-off a two-day Forensic and Fraud investigation training to build a modern, technology-driven and people-centered Police Force founded on professionalism, accountability, and operational efficiency.
The training, which was held from 20th to 21st May 2026, took place at the Police officers’ Mess, Umuahia, Abia State is, in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu.
The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka, said in a statement that Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), VCRU Sub-Commanders, Divisional Crime Officers (DCOs), as well as representatives from the Inspectorate/rank-and-file officers were among participants at the police training.
The statement said training featured insightful topics such as Anti-Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and NFIU Collaboration; Investigating Public Sector Fraud; Conducting Discreet Investigations, Legal Ethics and Undercover Operations.
Others are Legal Aspects of Forensic Investigation Techniques; and Cyber and Digital Forensics for Police Investigations, which has significantly enhanced the capacity of officers, leaving them better equipped for diligent investigation.
DPS Chinaka said the conference also featured the Commissioner of Police in the State and his management team, the convener of the training, Dr. Pearl Ogulu, Facilitators including Professor S. A. S. Aruwa, other resource persons and senior officers of the Command and others.
Addressing police officers and men in the Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for his deliberate efforts to ensure officers are well equipped with up-to-date skills for professionalism.
The Commissioner urged participants to remain attentive and to fully acquire the needed skills for effective and efficient investigation.
At the close of the training, the CP directed officers to apply the knowledge gained and retrain others within their respective formations.
He further encouraged officers to uphold professionalism in the discharge of their duties and ensure they create positive image for the police while discharging their du
ties at all times.
