Ehiozevbaru Village in Uhunmwode Local government Area of Edo State has been hit by tragedy.
This followed the death of a farmer, Friday Omosigho who took his own life after attacking his wife with a machete over alleged infidelity.
According to witnesses, Omosigho left his wife in the pool of her own blood and drank sniper and gave up the ghost few minutes later.
Trouble started when Omosigho returned home on Tuesday bight after a village meeting where some elders resolved the dispute in the family.
Apparently unsatisfied with the Ehiozevbaru elders verdict, the farmer, reportedly attacked his wife with a machete, severe her limbs and shoulders.
Police personnel from Egba Division in Uhunmwode Local government Area of the State have evacuated the deceased and deposited it in a morgue for preservation.
TheNewspad reports that the injured housewife is yet to recover from coma at a public medical facility in Benin.
The spokesman of the Nigeria Police, Edo State Command, SP. Chidi Nwabuzor, could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.
