Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has sent condolences to the families of slain gallant officers, soldiers in the State, pledging to fish out their killers.
Two Major Generals, Captain and 12 soldiers attached to 63 Brigade on a peace mission when they were ambushed and killed by irate youths in Okuoma Community, Bomadi Local government Area of Delta State on Thursday March 14.
Oborevwori who gave the assurance in a post on Sunday March 17 via his Facebook account, said he is “deeply saddened by the unprovoked killing of officers and soldiers”,
Governor Oborevwori assured that the culprits will be made to face the full wrath of the law
He wrote: “My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the gallant officers, soldiers, the Nigerian Army and the Armed Forces of Nigeria in general.
“The State Government shall take all measures necessary to fish out all those behind this dastardly act and ensure they are made to face the full wrath of the law”.
Recall that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, had directed the immediate investigation and arrest of those involved in the heinous crime.
The Chief of Defence Staff in a statement through its Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, noted that the State government has been informed of the incident.
