Court fines mechanic N50,000 for defrauding Client N350,000

A Borno State High Court, sitting in Maiduguri has convicted a a mechanic, Baba Mohammed for cheating a Client to the tune of Three Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira (N310, 000.00).

Justice Aisha Kumaliya who delivered the judgement on Tuesday on one count amended charge of cheating to the tune of Three Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira (N310, 000.00) brought before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) — the prosecution.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge. Consequently, the prosecution counsel, S.O Saka, prayed the court to convict him accordingly, EFCC said in a statement.

Justice Kumaliya sentenced the Mohammed to 6-month imprisonment with option of N50, 000.00 fine, according to EFCC update.
