Army intercepts 176kg suspected Cannabis sativa, nabs suspect

The Nigerian Army has handed over 365 pieces of Pawpaw size wrapped Cannabis Sativa weighing about 176KG to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency Command in Ogun State.

The Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu handed over the consignments concealed in 365 pieces of Pawpaw size to the Command on Thursday January 11, 2024.

The Commander Colonel Legborsi Deedum Nule, represented the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade a suspected drug trafficker was nabbed by troops on routine patrol on 6 January 2024 at Olodo Imeko on Imeko – Abeokuta road in the State.

He assured that the Brigade will continue to sustain all efforts in collaborating with other security agencies to rid the State of crimes. Col Nule further reiterated the Brigade’s commitment to ensuring troops maintain high standard and professionalism at all times in discharging their duties.

The Army in a statement said Commander of Narcotics, Ogun State Command, Jane Ibiba Odili lauded the effort of the Brigade and solicited more collaboration with the military, as well as other security agencies in the State.
