The ruling All Progressives Congress in Edo State has described the defunct Tony Aziegbemi-led State Working Committee of Peoples Democratic Party-led in Edo State as disgraceful.
TheNewspad recalls that the PDP sacked the Solomon Agwanana-led State Working Committee (SWC) in Bayelsa and Aziegbemi’s State Working Committee on Tuesday.
In their stead, the Zonal Secretary of PDP, George Turnah was appointed, to oversee the party as Caretaker Chairman in Bayelsa, while Nosa Ogieva takes charge of Edo State PDP Caretaker Committee for a period of three months.
Reacting, Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, the State Publicity Secretary,
APC, Edo State in a statement endorsed the PDP verdict, which he said has reduced former leaders of the PDP and their co-travellers to political irrelevance.
Uwadiae-Igbinigie assured paved the way for Edo people to “clearly see the contrast between failure and progress”, noting that the development has confirmed APC’s earlier predictions about the party’s inevitable decline and exposed the glaring failures leading to its current state-of disarray.
“It is not just disgraceful but deeply symbolic that Dr. Aziegbemi and Chris Nehikhare have been unceremoniously shown the exit, much like failed commanders forced to abandon a lost battle.
“This removal serves as a loud verdict on the administrative incompetence that defined their tenure.
“The rot, widely acknowledged as stemming from the Obaseki-led administration and nurtured by the PDP State Working Committee under Dr. Azegbemi, has now culminated in a full-blown crisis.
“Edo people can now clearly see the contrast between failure and progress.
“Under the capable leadership of Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC continues to usher in a new era of purposeful governance, infrastructural development, and visionary leadership.
“The people of Edo State deserve a better treatment and with Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo leading the charge, there is renewed hope for a brighter, and more prosperous future”, according to the APC.
