Senator Shehu Sani has appealed to Nigerians, especially the ruling Class to defend Nigeria’s unity and prevent actions that could cause nation’s disintegration, amid worsening economic hardship.
The human right activist who gails from Kaduna State, dismissed the call when he appeared on Arise television Live programme on Wednesday.
According to him, “We should believe in ourselves that we will overcome this. We should find ways in resolving our problems without getting into a situation whereby the nation will disintegrate”.
He said kicked against proposed plans by President Bola Tinubu to set up State Police in Nigeria, and scored President Tinubu high in curbing insecurity compared to the previous administration of Muhammadu Buhari in Nigeria.
Senator Sani charged the federal government to reinforce the military, police and other security Forces for efficient service delivery across the nation.
He also said, “We have seen a security when Service Chiefs overstayed third welcome in Buhari’s tenure”.
“There is need for improvement. We should expect more from our leaders, and appreciate the little this government has done”, Sani said, “I do not think the call for State Police will solve the problem of insecurity”, Senator Sani said.
