Suspects arrested for UNIBEN admission fraud — Management

The Management of University of Benin (UNIBEN) has confirmed the arrest of some alleged fraudsters on the University Campus.

University of Benin spokesperson, Dr (Mrs) Benedicta Ehanire reiterates that admission process at the Universityof Benin is free of charge”.

In a statement, Ehanire advised the general public to be wary of admission racketeers who impersonated UNIBEN admission officers and engaged in falsification of admission documents.

She said “members of the syndicates parade themselves as admission officers of the University and engage in admission racketeering and falsification of admission documents”.

Ehanire noted that “some members of the syndicate even go as far as collecting school fees from their victims under the pretext of assisting them to pay to the University”.

“Some arrests have been made”, according to the statement which however did not reveal details of arrested suspects.

recalls that the University Management also confirmed arrest of admission racketeers on its Campus during the previous admission year.
