The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has admitted making a mistake in the choice of
Mr Siminalayi Fubara, Governor as River State in 2023 governorship election.
Wike, led Rivers between May 2015 and 2023 when he handed over the reign of power to Fubara, his political godson in Peoples Democratic party, PDP before the tussle over who controls the leavers of power in the State.
The Minister made the confession at Saint Martin’s Church Field, Ugu/Bolo Local Government Area of the State where Mr George Sekibo from Rivers marked his 36th year thanksgiving in public Service.
The immediate former Governor of River State, vowed to correct his mistake at the appropriate time.
He also assured his loyalists and supporters in the State House of Assembly to be steadfast, inspite the intense political crisis in the State, which he said will soon be over.
“I want to say clearly, in life we made a mistake and there is nothing we can do about it.
“I have made a mistake and I have said God forgive me. But, we will correct it in the appropriate time.
“I am a human being and I am bound to make a mistake. My judgement might be wrong, please, forgive me. So, nobody should kill himself.
“Most of you do not understand that this is our work. I have no other work than to make them to be angry everyday. They will continue to make mistakes.
“If they like, they can go to anybody’s house by 2am to secure court injunction, but foul, the law will take its course. We are not afraid. We will follow due process. We will arm anybody to fight for us”, he said.
