Troops foil bank robbery, kill five bandits in Kogi

Troops of 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army have successfully foiled a Banks robbery and killed five suspected robbers in Ayingba, Kogi State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, 7th of March 2024, when armed robbers attempted to raid banks in the town, according to footages on social Media.

Troops engaged the hoodlums who stormed the town with the intention of carrying out a large-scale robbery on the banks in a fierce gun battle, which resulted in the casualties.

A witness, Mr John Abode, hailed the bravery of soldiers for the gallantry after other security some agents at hed to the banks fled.

TheNewspad reports that a combined team of security personnel have been deployed to the area, while the banks in the area are yet-to-open for businesses.
