Thief’ breaks, steals offering from church’s box

A suspected thief has reportedly broke into 77-year-old Pentecostal church’s donation box also known as offering box, and stole undisclosed cash sum belonging to the religious Organization in Oredo Local government Area of Edo State.

It was gathered that the undeterred criminal, sneaked into the sanctuary when some members of the church were praying hours before the commencement of last week Tuesday service at the global headquarters of the church.

The box, houses offering, Tithes and alms met for charity, according to the presiding Priest of the church known as ‘Apostle Osayamen’ who revealed this during Sunday September 8th church service.

He said the thief made his way to the church healing ground and broke the lock on the box and stole cash and sneaked out without any the knowledge of worshippers in church.

The Cleric who declined encouraging Congregants to pray for the perpetrator to forgive the thief, condemned the act, vowed to replace the lock.

According to him, “A thief came to break the lock on our offering box. If you are the one, please repent before your are disgraced”.

“If you re hungry, come to me, the church will assist you. Don’t put yourself in problem. I will get another lock on the offering box”, he said after the abominable act came to light.

Part of the donations by worshippers at the global headquarters of the church in Benin City, is used to assist less privileged individuals stipends for Clerics and meet other financial obligations, including ecclesiastical duties.

The church authorities have refused to launch probe into the incident after announcing the incident during Sunday morning church service.
