Spain crowned Euro Champion in 4th win

Spain has been crowned a record fourth European Championship title after beating England 2-1 at the final match on Sunday July 14th 2024 in Berlin, Germany.

Mikel Oyarzebel 87th goal gave Spain the victory over England in a painful long wait for a major trophy. Oyarzebel’s cross to his team mate, changed the tally in the second half of the final match, which was destined for extra time.

The victory was sealed after a great show of resilience by the English national team, which equalized after the 47th minute goal that saw a superb cross by Stephenson.

The final whistle at the end of the Match got football fans in Madrid, Spain which has suppased Germany in the record win of the European tournament to celebrate.

The pulsating encounter, saw a poor outing of goalless during the first half of the match. Both teams waited waited for each other to make the first move.

England substitute, Cole Palmer, pulled the three lions level. The team almost equalized at some times in the match, but Dan Olmo, nodded by Mac Guelu’s ball off the line to safety.

The team also scored at every stage and won all their matches at the tournament. They also had much pressure and dynamic quality players at the midfield and attack lines.

Spain had previously won in 1964, 2008 and 2012. In addition, the last two titles coming either side of their triumph at the 2010 World Cup when Xavi Hernandez, Xabi Alonso and Andres Iniesta.

England’s failure to clinch the Euro 2024 cup, they set a record as the first side ever to lose back-to-back Euros finals after they lost on penalties to Italy three years ago.

England is yet to claim international title since the 1966 World Cup victory.
