Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has threatened to terminate road contracts of defaulters who fail to deliver within the stipulated time and stick to the terms of agreement.
The Governor issued the threat, while inspecting some projects, including the channelization of Nwangene stream to the River Niger in the State on Tuesday.
While decrying the slow pace of road project being undertaking by one of the contractors,Tec Engineering Nigeria, Soludo said the contractor ought to have reached between 10 percent and 12 percent completion of his task having being on the project for two months.
“You speed up the work or have the contract terminated. The quality of the roads we are constructing is unparalleled and serve as despite for the people.
“It will have a stone base, with cement stabilization, and layers of asphalt with a 20-year guarantee”, Soludo assured the people.
He declared that the project must be delivered in twelve months duration as agreed, and appealed to residents to cooperate with him in restoring Anambra State Master plan as laid by its founding fathers.

Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi (the Chief of Staff to the Governor), His Royal Highness, Obi Alfred Achebe (Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council and Obi of Onitsha) and Tex Okechukwu, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APGA) attended the Ceremony.
