Impeached deputy governor of Edo State, Mr Philip Shaibu has collapsed his political party structure for the All Progressives Congress Candidate for the September 21 gubernatorial election, Sen. Monday Okpebholo and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa.
He also donated 50 branded campaign vehicles to the Edo All Progressives Congress Secretariat 2024 governorship Campaign Council of Okpebholo/Denco campaign team.
Shaibu, who has yet to formally defect from the ruling Peoples Democratic party (PDP), according to sources, also donated Music trucks, well-furnished Secretariat office to support the party ahead of the forthcoming poll.
TheNewspad reports that the Airport road office complex in Benin City, was used for aborted governorship ambition declaration of Shaibu, before it was invaded and vandalized by state actors.
The former Deputy Governor is challenging his impeachment from office by members of the State House of Assembly in April 2024, after a months-long battle with his ex-principal Governor Godwin Obaseki, who replaced him with Akoko-Edo born Mr Omobayo Godwins.
