Sex romp: Police arrest student over lecturer’s death

A female student of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Kogi State, Glory Ojochegbe Samuel has been taken into police custody over the circumstance that led to the death of lecturer in the institution, Mr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, during sex romp with her at w hotel.

According to The Guardian Newspaper, the 200-Level student (Matric No: 24GE1034
at a hotel in Anyigba was said to have raised an alarm after noticing he was unresponsive and, with the help of the hotel receptionist, rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.

William Aya, the Nigeria Police Command in Kogi State, who confirmed the incident, stated that the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the state police headquarters in Lokoja for further investigation.

Miss Samuel remains in custody while detectives work to determine the exact cause of death, according to the Command’s spokesman.

He told the Newspaper that the lady reported the incident at the Anyigba police station. The case was later transferred to Lokoja. The CID which is handling the matter.

In a statement, the Registrar of the University, Mr Yahaya Segun Alilu, described the development as “tragic and disturbing”.

He expressed sadness over the incident on behalf of the University’s Management and assured that the institution is cooperating with the police in the ongoing investigation.

He said, “The University expresses deep sorrow over the unfortunate passing of Mr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle. The circumstances surrounding his death, in the company of Miss Glory Ojochegbe Samuel, are currently under investigation”.
