Operatives of the Nigeria police Command in Abia State have arrested a 63-year-old man, Ngumoha Ogechi, who reportedly abducted and defiled 16-year-old teenage girl in the State.
The criminal suspect, who was arrested and detained through actionable intelligence, by operatives attached to Isiala-Ngwa Divisional police headquarters, on April 14, 2026.
In a statement, the police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka on behalf of the Commissioner of police in the State, CP Danladi Isa, alleged that Ogechi collected the hostage parents’ Automated Teller Machine, ATM cards and withdrew approximately Two Hundred Thousand Naira (₦200,000).
Similarly, operatives of Eastern Ngwa Divisional police headquarters, have arrested a 20-year-old man, Godstime Chinasa, from Obingwa, who allegedly took a 15-year-old girl to a bush at Osa Ukwu and defiled the victim.
Actionable intelligence by the operatives, led to the arrest of the alleged paedophile, according to the police spokesperson, who also confirmed the arrest of some criminal suspects.
The suspects were identified as Chukwuka Ezenta, and Ezekiel Nze, who are both 38-year-old, alongside Chidera Obioha, male and Chimcheta Obi, whose ages were given in the police statement as 29 and 33 years.
Two AK-47 rifles with 17 rounds of 7.62×39 mm and 22 rounds of 5.56×45 mm ammunition were recovered from the suspects by the police, which assured that the arrested suspects will have their dates in court for prosecution soon.
