Date:

Some aggrieved police pensioners have confronted representatives of Nigeria’s Inspector General of police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu over delayed pension and other issues of concern.

The incident happened when the retirees stormed the Nigeria police Force headquarters at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Monday, in a video on the internet.

A top police officer who was joined by his colleagues, stirred the hornets nest when he threatened to arrest one of the protesters for alleged misconduct.

But in contract, other protesters, became angry after the officer vowed to deal with the retiree who lamented the dichotomy in police pension scheme between senior police officers and rank-and-file nationwide.

The senior police officer, identified only as Aloyeni, who was also accused of oppressing the protesters, sought to clarify on some of the issues they raised, and objected in hushed tones to the comments.

The senior officer while addressing the protesters, issues a subtle thread to arrest one of protesters over his unsavory comments.

While some of the retirees reminded him on the essence of esprit-the-corps, others told not officer not to them, as they fight for their fundamental human rights.
