Okpebholo suspends traditional ruler for alleged kidnapping

The Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo has approved the suspension of the Agenebode, Estako East Local Government Area of Edo State, Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, George Oshiapi Egabor

over allegations of Kidnapping in the area.

Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor who disclosed this late Monday in a statement, traced his sanction to
recent cases of incessant kidnapping and killings in his area.

Already, Chief Peter Omiogbemhi, Secretary to the embattled suspended traditional ruler, has been arrested by the relevant authorities deft hands in a recent incident that led to the murder of a Palace Chief identified as John Ikhamate.

The Governor had began the demolition of property used for kidnappings in any part of Edo State; Even as he recently assured that death penalty awaits any kidnapper in Edo State.

The policy has received a widespread approval by the Edo State House of Assembly and other relevant stakeholders .
